“Memories are mirrors...”
they say
“that shatter to pieces
when you fall
and stab into you
like swords and knives.”
It pains to remember
It pains to forget
maybe its better
to not feel them at all
I decided
On my own
if it hurts so much
I should drown them in the sea
along with me
I lost my breath
and you let me borrow yours
I could no longer see the road
so you planted seeds
and grew trees
to guide me
You bandaged the wounds
of the mirror shards
and bound them together
and I said nothing
but watch you glow
“Memories are mirrors...”
you say
“if they shatter
and become your enemy
I will protect you at all costs
forever.”
